Farkas Norbert (H) sb
Norbert Farkas is a Hungarian jazz bassist with an international career. He began his musical journey in Nagykanizsa, and in Budapest as a young musician. Later, he went on to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. Norbert decided to move to New York City to start his professional career. There he spent four years perfecting his craft playing in numerous venues, and touring with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. He later took a job opportunity as the bassist on the American Queen Steamboat, sailing up and down the Mississippi river. There he met his wife, Clotile.
They soon settled in New Orleans for several years, where Norbert immersed himself in the city’s vibrant jazz scene. He soon found himself performing at notable festivals like the New Orleans Jazz Festival and French Quarter Fest, sharing stages with some of his favorite musicians. His style blends all the influences he has captured throughout his career. Norbert now tours globally, bringing his expertise and love for jazz to audiences everywhere.
